3 मार्च, 1944 को कोच्चि के रविपुरम में जन्मे जयचंद्रन की संगीत यात्रा कई दशकों तक फैली रही, जिसके दौरान उन्होंने मलयालम, तमिल, तेलुगु, कन्नड़ और हिंदी सहित कई भारतीय भाषाओं में 16,000 से अधिक गाने रिकॉर्ड किए।
उनकी भावपूर्ण आवाज़ ने उन्हें “भाव गायकन” (भावनाओं का गायक) की स्नेहपूर्ण उपाधि दिलाई।
राष्ट्रीय मान्यता: जयचंद्रन को 1986 में सर्वश्रेष्ठ पुरुष पार्श्व गायक के लिए राष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कार मिला।
राज्य सम्मान: उन्हें पाँच केरल राज्य फिल्म पुरस्कार और दो तमिलनाडु राज्य फिल्म पुरस्कार मिले।
लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट: 2020 में, उन्हें उनके उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए मलयालम सिनेमा के सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार जे. सी. डैनियल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
जयचंद्रन के परिवार में उनकी पत्नी ललिता, बेटी लक्ष्मी और बेटा दीनानाथ हैं, जिन्होंने संगीत उद्योग में भी अपना नाम बनाया है।
उनके निधन से दक्षिण भारतीय संगीत के एक युग का अंत हो गया है, जो अपने पीछे एक समृद्ध विरासत छोड़ गए हैं जो आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए संगीत प्रेमियों को प्रेरित और प्रतिध्वनित करती रहेगी।

Born on March 3, 1944, in Ravipuram, Kochi, Jayachandran’s musical journey spanned several decades, during which he recorded over 16,000 songs in several Indian languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
