Crime and accidents:
Bhojpuri singer murdered: In Garkha of Chhapra, a Bhojpuri singer named Muntun Yadav was stabbed to death by assailants while he was returning home late on Friday night. The motive behind the attack is currently unknown.
Road accidents:
A collision between a car and a truck on SH-104 near Taraiya left the car driver Neeraj Tiwari (28) seriously injured and has been referred to Patna for treatment.
In Amnour, a youth named Prakash Kumar succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident while returning home on a bike.
Incidents of theft:
In Pirari area of Dariyapur, thieves broke into a customer service point (CSP) and a grocery shop and stole cash and valuables, including laptops and printers, from the CSP.
In Taraiya, thieves targeted three shops and decamped with goods and cash worth lakhs.
Attack on police team: A constable was injured when sand mafia attacked a police team conducting raids against illegal sand mining. Seven tractors and a JCB involved in the illegal activity were seized.
Administrative action:
Public grievance hearing: 31 complaints related to land, health and education, among other issues, were resolved at the District Magistrate’s public hearing in Chhapra.
Inspection of residential school: The Deputy Development Commissioner inspected the girl’s residential school and hostel run by the Welfare Department, and issued several instructions to improve the facilities.
Housing scheme notice: Notices have been issued to about 300 beneficiaries who have not completed construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and warnings have been given of further action if the deadline is not followed.

Meeting of RJD workers: Former minister and MLA Surendra Ram expressed confidence in the party’s success in the upcoming elections and urged the Rashtriya Janata Dal workers to take Tejashwi Yadav’s promises to the public.
Infrastructure and Transport:
Road Widening Projects: The state government has sanctioned funds for widening and strengthening of Khaira-Bintoliya road, which also includes construction of RCC drains on both sides over a distance of two kilometres.
Special Train Service: A special MEMU train service has been started between Patliputra and Ballia via Chhapra, which will leave Chhapra Junction at 3:20 pm daily and reach Patliputra at 5:45 pm.
