मकर संक्रांति की तैयारियाँ: छपरा में मकर संक्रांति के अवसर पर बाजारों में ख़रीदारी के लिए भीड़ उमड़ रही है। हालांकि त्योहार की तिथि को लेकर मतभेद हैं, अधिकांश लोग इसे मंगलवार को मना रहे हैं। प्रशासन ने 14-15 जनवरी को नदियों में नाव चलाने पर प्रतिबंध लगाया है, जिससे 2017 की दुर्घटना जैसी घटनाओं से बचा जा सके।
दुर्घटना में युवक की मौत: मुफस्सिल थाना क्षेत्र के बसाढी गांव निवासी राहुल कुमार सिंह (27) की एक तेज़ रफ़्तार कार की टक्कर से मौत हो गई, जबकि उनके चचेरे भाई घायल हो गए। राहुल मकर संक्रांति पर अपनी बहन के घर दही-चूड़ा पहुंचाने जा रहे थे।
अतिक्रमण हटाओ अभियान: प्रशासन ने जंक्शन रोड पर अतिक्रमण के खिलाफ बुलडोजर चलाया, जहां ठेला-खोमचा वालों ने सड़क पर कब्जा जमा रखा था। इससे यात्रियों को स्टेशन पहुंचने में कठिनाई हो रही थी।
राष्ट्रीय युवा संवाद में भागीदारी: छपरा के आशीष कुमार ने नई दिल्ली के भारत मंडपम में आयोजित तीन दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय युवा संवाद में बिहार का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। इस कार्यक्रम में 30 लाख युवाओं में से 1000 का चयन किया गया था।
स्वास्थ्य संस्थानों का प्रमाणीकरण: जिले के सभी स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों के प्रसव कक्ष और मेटरनिटी ओटी का ‘लक्ष्य’ कार्यक्रम के तहत प्रमाणीकरण किया जाएगा, जिससे मातृ एवं शिशु स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं में सुधार हो सके।
इन घटनाओं के अलावा, छपरा में मकर संक्रांति के अवसर पर विभिन्न धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जा रहे हैं। प्रशासन ने सुरक्षा और व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाए हैं।

Makar Sankranti preparations: Crowds are thronging the markets in Chhapra to shop on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Although there are differences over the date of the festival, most people are celebrating it on Tuesday. The administration has banned boating in rivers on January 14-15 to avoid incidents like the 2017 accident.
Young man dies in accident: Rahul Kumar Singh (27), a resident of Basadhi village in Mufassil police station area, died after being hit by a speeding car, while his cousin was injured. Rahul was going to deliver dahi-chura to his sister’s house on Makar Sankranti.
Encroachment removal campaign: The administration ran a bulldozer against encroachment on Junction Road, where thela-khomcha owners had occupied the road. This was causing difficulty to passengers to reach the station.
Participation in National Youth Dialogue: Ashish Kumar of Chhapra represented Bihar in the three-day National Youth Dialogue held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. 1000 youths were selected from 30 lakhs for the event.
Certification of health institutions: Delivery rooms and maternity OTs of all health centres in the district will be certified under the ‘Lakshya’ programme to improve maternal and child health services.
Apart from these events, various religious and cultural programmes are being organised on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Chhapra. The administration has taken necessary steps to maintain security and order.
