Illegal mini gun factory busted in Saran: Police arrested one accused

Chhapra, Saran – The police of the district has busted an illegal mini gun factory in a major action. The factory was being operated in a remote village of Isuapar block of the district. Police have recovered a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and manufacturing equipment from the spot.

Police action:
The operation was led by Saran Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Mangala. Based on secret information, the police raided a house in Isuapar. During the raid, equipment used in weapon manufacturing and finished weapons were recovered from the spot.

Recovery:

Weapons: 12 country-made pistols and 6 semi-manufactured pistols.

Ammunition: More than 50 live cartridges.

Equipment: Tools and materials used in weapon manufacturing.

Arrest:
The police have arrested a person from the spot, who has been identified as Rajesh Kumar (fictitious name). In preliminary interrogation, he admitted that he was running this illegal factory for several months and supplied the finished weapons to the surrounding districts.

Police statement:
SP Gaurav Mangala said, “This action was taken with the aim of curbing the manufacture and smuggling of illegal weapons in the area. Interrogation of the arrested accused is going on, and we are trying to trace other members of this network.”

Local reaction:
The disclosure of the illegal arms factory has created panic among the local people. The villagers expressed surprise at the incident and appreciated the police action. A local resident said, “We had no idea that something like this was happening in our village.”

Further action:
The police have registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act. Also, the investigation has been intensified to trace other members of this network and the supply chain of weapons.

Background:
Incidents of illegal arms manufacturing and smuggling have come to light earlier in Saran and surrounding areas. This action is considered a big success for the police in this direction.

The incident has highlighted the need to increase vigilance against illegal activities in the area. Police say surveillance will be tightened to keep a check on such activities in future.
