Expansion of passenger facilities at Darbhanga Airport: Construction work of new terminal will start soon
Darbhanga, Bihar – A major step has been taken to improve passenger facilities at the state’s major Darbhanga Airport. The construction work of the new terminal at the airport has been approved, and it is planned to start soon. With this expansion, the capacity of the airport will increase as well as passengers will get more facilities.

New terminal building:
The proposed terminal building will be spread over 10,000 square meters.
It will have the capacity to handle 2,000 passengers per day.
With a modern design, this building will be equipped with energy-efficient technologies.
Expansion of facilities:
The new terminal will have 6 check-in counters, 4 boarding gates, and modern security systems.
Food court, waiting lounge, and retail stores will also be available for passengers.
The parking capacity will be increased to 500 vehicles.
Increase in airline services:
The construction of the new terminal is also expected to increase the number of airlines and the frequency of flights.
The introduction of international flights along with domestic flights is also being considered.

The number of passengers at Darbhanga Airport is constantly increasing. At present, an average of 1,500 to 2,000 passengers travel daily at the airport. Passengers face inconvenience due to limited space and facilities.

The Civil Aviation Minister said, “The expansion of Darbhanga Airport is an important step for the development of the region. This project will provide better connectivity to the northern part of Bihar and promote tourism.”
